Performance time!

Finally getting out and playing after 10 years

After 10 years of effort (read my profile for more info in this regard), I have finally achieved a longtime goal and got my playing skills up enough to publicly perform the 40 or so minutes of my own compositions that I have memorised so far. I really like the idea of the player/composer so I am pleased to have reached this goal. As this is not enough repertoire for a full concert I have chosen to hit the streets for my performances until I have more pieces learnt.

"How are you getting a piano to the street to play?" I hear you ask.

Well, I am using the highly underrated but fantastic Casio PX560. It uses a 12 volt AC adaptor but I have converted it to use a Comsol laptop power pack so I do not need to access power and can set up in the middle of a field if I so desire. To boost the bottom end of the already quite reasonable onboard speakers I am using a JBL Charge 4 portable speaker which obviously also has it's own battery.

I made my first performance a week ago and all went fairly well considering it was a first attempt. I did get a few performance practise opportunities a couple of years back whilst I was a member off a now defunct local piano club. This was the first time I have attempted to play a large amount of music. I did have to dive deep in to the Art of Recovery manual a few times but was delighted to have actually achieved my goal and ended up looking forward to getting out there and performing again..............tomorrow.
